At meelan, we are dedicated to fostering a safe, respectful, and legal environment for individuals seeking life partners. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy toward any activity that endangers minors, facilitates child marriage, or involves child exploitation.

1. Minimum Age & Eligibility

In strict adherence to the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act (2006) and global safety norms, Meelan is an adults-only platform.

  • Minimum Age: Females: 18 years and above.
    • Males: 21 years and above.
  • Strict Prohibition: Access by anyone under these legal thresholds is strictly prohibited. Any account found to be operated by a minor, or by an adult on behalf of a minor, will be permanently banned.

2. Mandatory Age Verification

To ensure a minor-free environment, Meelan employs industry-leading Age Assurance Technology:

  • Document Verification: Users must provide a government-issued ID (e.g., driver’s license or Voter ID) during registration.
  • AI-Based Liveness Check: We utilize 2026-standard facial age estimation and biometric liveness checks to ensure the person in the ID matches the user.
  • Data Minimization: We only store the “Verification Status” (Pass/Fail) and do not retain raw sensitive ID documents longer than necessary for the audit trail.

3. Prohibition of CSAE & CSAM

Meelan has a zero-tolerance mandate against Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) and Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).

  • Content Bans: We prohibit the uploading, sharing, or solicitation of any imagery, text, or links depicting or promoting the exploitation of children.
  • AI-Generated Content (Deepfakes): Per the 2026 IT Amendment Rules, we utilize advanced technical measures to detect and remove AI-generated or “synthetic” content that is harmful to children.
  • Grooming Protections: Our algorithms flag patterns of “grooming” behavior, including attempts to move conversations to unmonitored platforms or soliciting personal details from vulnerable users.

4. Monitoring & Moderation

  • Proactive Detection: We use automated hashing technology and AI classifiers to scan for illegal content in real-time.
  • Human Review: Our dedicated safety team reviews flagged profiles and reports 24/7.
  • Rapid Takedown: In compliance with 2026 regulations, any confirmed CSAM or high-risk content is removed within 3 hours of detection or reporting.

5. Law Enforcement Cooperation

Meelan fulfills its legal obligations by reporting illegal activity to the appropriate authorities:

  • Reporting: Verified instances of CSAM or attempted child marriage are reported to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (India), NCMEC (USA), or the National Crime Agency (UK) within 24 hours.

7. Reporting Mechanisms

We empower our community to act as a first line of defense:

  • In-App Reporting: Every profile and chat interface features a “Report Abuse” button with a specific category for “Underage User” or “Child Safety Concern.”
  • Child Safety Officer: Meelan has appointed a dedicated Child Safety Point of Contact to handle escalated concerns.
